You would use a spec file in either case. The alternative, -onefile produces a single executable file. This is a valid way of bundling you zip up that folder and send it out and it contains everything that scriptname needs to run. The option is -onedir or -D (click that) and you end up with a folder containing a bunch of files including an executable scriptname.
